Our Staff

Founder and Principal, Dan Foster is a creative problem-solver and experienced technical leader with a diverse background in both product and process development.

Most recently, as a Senior R&D Fellow for Boston Scientific Corporation, he has been in a cross-divisional role leading the development of key products, technologies, and manufacturing processes for some of Boston Scientific’s most notable products.

He has a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Michigan Technological University and, prior to joining Boston Scientific (formerly Guidant Corporation), he worked for both W.L. Gore and Associates and 3M.

Dan enjoys taking-on challenging problems. Some of his top accomplishments include:

  • Developed dozens of complex custom automation work-cells for implantable device assembly

  • Co-developed custom fully-automated equipment that produces Boston Scientific's EnduraLife™ Batteries

  • Co-designer and Process Development Technical Lead for a revolutionary new cardiac pacemaker lead. Led one of the largest custom capital equipment projects in Boston Scientific's history.

  • Authored Boston Scientific's automated equipment and machine vision specifications.

  • R&D Technical Lead for an advanced TAVR valve delivery system.

  • Founder and one of the technical leaders of the Robotics and Guided Procedures Lab, which includes cutting-edge technology in software, hardware, sensors, devices, and medical robotics.

Dan lives in Minnesota with his wife and three daughters and enjoys travel and the outdoors.
